The ASTD Smoky Mountain Chapter is part of the world's largest association dedicated to workplace learning and performance (WLP), the American Society for Training and Development. Founded in 1976, the Smoky Mountain Chapter has served as a resource for the WLP community for over 30 years!

Chapter Recognition
The Smoky Mountain Chapter continues to maintain Chapter Operating Requirements (CORE). To achieve this standard, 18 rigorous requirements for chapter excellence must be maintained. This achievement was recognized by Tony Bingham, ASTD President and CEO. The Chapter was also recognized for sharing a success story in 2012.
